They are not giving the informative coverage that this event deserves. An event that has paralyzed a fair part of the city and that has received a better coverage by the international media. Since yesterday afternoon, when the police charges led to arrests and injured people, all broadcasts from RTVV have followed the same argumentative and visual line. They're intentionally hiding all videos that show the police's brutal use of force against IES Lluís Vives' students. They show the police as being the victims while blaming the violence on the underaged students. They even go as far as saying that there are more injured police officers than students. They don't even report on the fact that among the injured are reporters from different media. They decontextualize the causes behind the protests and present them just as riots, they hide the reasons behind of the protests: the spending cuts in public education and the lack of heating in the schools.

Canal 9 has not shown the chief police officer statements where he called the students "the enemy". They are trying to delegitimize the student protests assuring that they are authorized, when they had just not been communicated. That is why we are calling for the resignations of RTVV's general director, José López Jaraba, Canal 9's directors, Lluis Redondo, and Radio 9's Nuria Romeral, as well as the respective heads of news reporting, Salut Perdrós and Juan José Braulio. We consider that the news coverage that they are imposing upon us only furthers this channel's divorce with part of the Valencian society and they delegitimize our role as a public service.
